Evaporation from drips and open containers contributes considerably to poor air quality within the laboratory.
Some chemicals, for example formalin, are known to cause respiratory problems or are cancerous to humans
so safe handling and storage is essential. These SafeStore chemical storage cabinets remove vapours, purify
the laboratory air and enhance the long-term health of laboratory personnell.
There are some histology laboratories where there is a lot
of samples requiring safe storage. In such circumstances
it is often more desirable or cost-effective to use stores
that have air drawn through the store and then extracted
out of the building.
These stores can be manufactured in stainless steel (as
pictured right) or polypropylene. Both will give optimum
storage under normal laboratory conditions. These stores
can be fitted with shelves or mobile trolleys, or some of each.
