DWS Benchtop Downflow Workstations
The DWS downflow workstations have been designed specially to provide a small bench mounted unit with
unrestricted access for those applications that are difficult to perform in a conventional fume cupboard. To
provide operator protection the downflow action takes the contaminated air away from the operator and
passes it through a carbon filter before returning it, fully cleaned back into the laboratory. If the airflow
falls to an unacceptable level an alarm will alert the user. The stainless steel tray is removable for easy
cleaning and to provide easy access to the pre-filter. A spillage tray is located under this work surface.
Lighting is built in to give good illumination of the work area. All mechanisms in the head section are on the
clean side of the main filter with the switches and electrical components isolated from contamination.

The main filter can be selected from 14 different types of carbon including speciality
media for vapours of organics, solvents, acids, mercury and formaldehyde. HEPA
filters are used for removal of particulates.
These units are energy efficient. Clean air is re-circulated into the laboratory. They
Do not exhaust expensive conditioned and/or heated air into the atmosphere.
